Introducing Suradech Taweesangskulthai, also known as "Hia Jing," the Thai Sang Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate for economic affairs. He has broad experience as a leading businessman and co-founder of the "Khon Kaen Model."


On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Thai Sang Thai Party officially announced three prime ministerial candidates: Khun Ying Sudarat Keyuraphan as candidate number one, Lt. Gen. Pradorn Phatthanathabut as number two, and Mr. Suradech Taweesangskulthai as number three, to contest the 2026 election.


Profile of Suradech Taweesangskulthai


Mr. Suradech Taweesangskulthai, nicknamed Jing, is the son of Mr. Chor and Mrs. Usa Taweesangskulthai, founders of the Ch. Tawee business empire. He graduated with a diploma in automotive engineering from Yomiuri Rikosem College, Japan; a bachelor's degree in business administration from Sanno University, Japan; a master's degree in economics from Fordham University, USA; and received an honorary doctorate in mechanical engineering from Rajamangala University of Technology Isan in 2017 (2560).


Suradech is a distinguished businessman known for applying innovation and technology in heavy industry. He is CEO of Ch. Tawee Public Company Limited (CHO), leading the company to the stock market and advancing Thai business to global markets such as NASDAQ. He co-founded the "Khon Kaen Model" and chairs Khon Kaen City Development Company Limited (KKTT), a pioneering private sector city development consortium (including projects like the light rail system), recognized internationally. He has also served as a special lecturer on public policy and governance at Khon Kaen University for over 10 years.


Suradech Taweesangskulthai's Path to Politics


On 23 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Khun Ying Sudarat officially introduced Suradech as the Thai Sang Thai Party's economic commander, tasked with overseeing economic and sustainability policies. The party promotes a new approach to solve livelihood issues “without relying solely on government budgets,” instead fostering cooperation among local authorities, the private sector, and central government to achieve the "Restart Thailand" vision. Suradech is responsible for restructuring the economy to tackle five major challenges facing Thailand, focusing on reducing inequality, reforming bureaucracy, combating corruption, and overhauling laws that hinder livelihoods. The sustainable economy policy aims to leverage global market opportunities to empower grassroots economies in real communities.


Khun Ying Sudarat emphasized that having Suradech join the team reinforces the party’s commitment to “No corruption, experienced, delivers results,” pushing practical economic policies for the upcoming election on 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7.
