Anutin Charnvirakul has launched a campaign page and provided detailed explanations for not participating in the debate, citing restrictions from his role as Prime Minister, discomfort with the atmosphere of mutual attacks, and the inability to express himself as intended within the brief 1-3 minute time slots. He asked that his work results speak for themselves. Meanwhile, the Bhumjaithai Party released a campaign song emphasizing the "Say and Do" policy.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, explained his reasons for not joining the debate through his page Anutin Number 37, stating: "Dear respected fellow citizens,
From today onward, to comply with the law and the regulations of the Election Commission, I will use this space to communicate with all Thai voters, so you can consider the policies, ideas, and approaches of myself and the Bhumjaithai Party before deciding your vote on Sunday, 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7.
The first thing I want to say is that I respectfully decline the invitation to the debate for three reasons.
1. As Prime Minister, I have the duty to manage the Thai-Cambodian border situation, which imposes limitations. I cannot present any information that might affect the operations of the military and government agencies currently performing their duties, especially regarding national security and public safety, which supersede all other interests.
Even though other candidates may not face these restrictions, I urge the organizers and debate participants to exercise caution in their presentations so as not to impact the morale of officials involved or compromise national security.
2. As Prime Minister, I must continue administrative duties until a new government takes office. Accepting invitations to debates or interviews for campaigning could disrupt government work. If I have to postpone due to urgent duties, it would affect organizers. I apologize to many programs in advance and thank all who have honored me and shown goodwill by offering me opportunities to communicate with the public.
At this time, my role as Prime Minister takes precedence over party leadership, but the Bhumjaithai Party is ready to cooperate by sending party members,
the party's prime ministerial candidates, and campaign assistants to present policies at every feasible opportunity.
3. For personal reasons, from experience, I feel uncomfortable with the debate atmosphere, which often involves creating rhetoric to attack one another. Also, I have personal limitations that prevent me from speaking as I intend within just 1-3 minutes, which could cause misunderstandings.
I believe that presenting public policies for voters to consider requires time for both speaker and listener. I am not a skilled speaker suited to such debate formats, so I prefer to spend my time working for the people and let my work results speak on my behalf.
For these reasons, in this election, I will use this platform as my main communication channel with the public and media. I invite everyone to engage, exchange ideas, and jointly propose ways to develop our country here every day. If there are beneficial ideas that can be implemented immediately, I will adopt them without waiting until after the election.
Please be assured that Anutin "says and does."
