The New Opportunity Party has proposed three prime minister candidates—Jatuporn, Tossaporn, and Praphat—blending technocrats, politicians, and administrators to address the country’s challenges at a critical turning point in its development.
On 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters noted that the New Opportunity Party, number 44, stirred political activity by submitting three prime ministerial candidates to the Election Commission (EC). This reflects the party’s strategy to combine "state experience" with "practical politics" as a new alternative for national governance. The three nominees include Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, the party leader, former Minister of Commerce, and former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. He is a senior civil servant with extensive bureaucratic experience and is seen as a policy-driven administrator and public sector driver.
Dr. Tossaporn Serirak, former Member of Parliament for Phrae province, has played roles in both politics and public health. He represents politicians who link everyday people's livelihoods with public policy.
Mr. Praphat Jongsanguan, former Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, has direct experience managing a large state enterprise. His candidacy reflects the party’s focus on infrastructure, transportation systems, and reforming public organizations for greater efficiency.
The selection of these three candidates is seen as a mix of technocrats, politicians, and administrators aimed at addressing the country’s critical issues, including economic challenges, bureaucratic reform, and state enterprise management—topics under close societal scrutiny.
This nomination signals the party’s readiness to govern if entrusted by the public. The leader of the New Opportunity Party emphasized the party’s goal to be a “new opportunity for the country” amid intense political competition and diverse choices in this election.
