Dr. Chen Yoschanan Urges Constructive Politics After Multiple Pheu Thai Candidate Campaign Signs Vandalized

Dr. Chen Yoschanan urges constructive political engagement after multiple Pheu Thai Party and candidate campaign signs were vandalized in several districts. He notes that the view of the party as the third key player is incorrect and believes the public has not yet made a decision.

At 10:35 a.m. on 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters, Yoschanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai’s prime ministerial candidate, addressed the issue of ill-intentioned individuals writing other parties’ numbers on Pheu Thai candidates’ campaign signs, while in some areas the party’s signs were destroyed. He said there is a need to campaign for more constructive politics. Regarding the placement of signs in unsuitable locations, he accepted this criticism and said the team is ready to improve. He invited the public to report any such incidents to the party to help improve politics, emphasizing that next year must be a year of hope for the people.

Regarding analyses that Pheu Thai will become the third-ranked party and a kingmaker, Yoschanan stated that this perspective is incorrect. The crucial point now is that the public has not yet made up their minds; such assumptions ignore the voters’ voices entirely. He believes this mindset must change. The most important thing now is to continue dialogue. What the public wants to hear is structural economic reform, with additional relevant issues. Understanding how voters of all ages perceive these problems is something to start examining, to see which parties have policies addressing them.

Yoschanan said that on 28 Dec 2025 GMT+7, he congratulated people living near the border, where the situation is calming down, during discussions with Anutin Charnvirakul, the prime minister and minister of interior. He emphasized that on matters of foreign affairs and security, they are on the same team. With peace restored, they stand ready to support, including discussing next steps to ensure comprehensive care for the people so students can return to school and residents resume work as normal as soon as possible.

When asked if he was concerned that border issues might disadvantage Pheu Thai in the seven border provinces, Yoschanan replied that as long as the party maintains sincerity and avoids shortcomings in the area, he is confident the public will give Pheu Thai a chance. He is assured the party can retain its support base in the border provinces, noting that current candidates and residents understand this well.

Regarding plans to campaign in Bangkok after initial efforts in two districts, Yoschanan said communication methods must be adapted since some residents have returned to their hometowns. However, the most important thing is to understand and attempt to structurally address problems. Currently, party candidates are engaging locally, integrating urgent assistance issues. If anything can be done now, they do it without waiting for elections. The party continuously demonstrates sincerity in the field to earn public trust and regain votes for Pheu Thai.
