Prime Minister Visits Prasat Ta Kwai and Hill 350 to Encourage Troops and Pay Tribute to Fallen Soldiers

Prime Minister Anutin visited Prasat Ta Kwai to encourage the troops, shared a meal with them, urged them to take care of themselves, thanked them for sacrificing for the nation, and paid respects at the site where two soldiers died on Hill 350.


At 12:00 noon on 29 December 2025 GMT+7, at the Prasat Ta Kwai surveillance base in Surin Province, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, . along with his delegation, visited the area to encourage troops serving at the border. Prime Minister Anutin joined the troops for lunch, observed their living conditions, and paid respects at the Thai Defender monument before walking up to Prasat Ta Kwai. He also stopped to pay homage to the large Buddha statue at the base of Prasat Ta Kwai.

At one point, Prime Minister Anutin spoke with Luang Ta Yeun from Wat Khao Sala in Buachet District, Surin Province, who advised him to upgrade the military equipment since it had been procured many years ago and to build a new road to Prasat Ta Kwai because the existing one was damaged. Afterwards, Anutin walked on to Prasat Ta Kwai, greeting and encouraging the officers stationed there. While ascending, the media asked if this place was a source of pride for Thais to have regained Prasat Ta Kwai. Anutin pointed to the national flag in front of the castle and said, “Look at this national flag.”





. The Prime Minister then proceeded to Hill 350 to encourage the troops, telling them to take care of themselves and thanking them for their sacrifice for the country. He said he would return to encourage them again and praised their excellent skills. At one point, Anutin pointed to a foam box containing PMN-2 anti-personnel mines and said, “Look, this is the box for mines. If it has been 30 years, can foam still be this intact? Don’t overthink it.” Prime Minister Anutin also visited the site where the bodies of two fallen soldiers were initially unable to be retrieved from Hill 350. He raised his hands in a traditional Thai gesture of respect at the spot where the soldiers sacrificed their lives. He then took photos with the personnel on duty at Hill 350.
