Supraipol, candidate for Bangkok MP District 33 from the Pheu Thai Party, pointed out that politics must stand on integrity and that candidates should be strictly screened before being allowed to run. Following the arrests of some candidates from other parties, he does not see this as an advantage or disadvantage but pledges to do his best in serving the people.
On 29 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Supraipol Penkhae (partner of Mr. Chakraphop Penkhae), candidate for Member of the House of Representatives for Bangkok District 33 from the Pheu Thai Party, spoke about some candidates from other parties in the same area facing legal problems. He stated that local people have already been informed through news reports and he believes the public will use sound judgment based on correctness when deciding whom to elect.
Regarding the Pheu Thai Party, it places great importance on carefully selecting candidates, including reviewing their application forms, consenting to criminal background checks, and examining tax information. The party adheres to principles of law, justice, and credibility to ensure candidates are good role models and trusted by the public. He sees the recent incidents as reflecting the public's desire for representatives who can address poverty and livelihood issues and promote party policies aligned with local needs. Any misconduct will help voters make better decisions.
Mr. Supraipol added that what the public most wants to know is what benefits they will receive if they elect a particular representative and how well that representative can respond to their needs. Therefore, clear and tangible policy communication is crucial so that voters can see whether the policies are comprehensive and truly meet their demands.
When asked whether these events would give him a political advantage or disadvantage, Mr. Supraipol replied that he does not view it in terms of advantage or disadvantage but focuses on the public’s expectations. He emphasized that people want a good, valuable leader recognized by society who can help solve their problems. Public expectations for representatives are significant, so political parties should rigorously screen candidates. Concealing or failing to disclose facts could lead to problems that are too late to fix.
He also admitted being surprised by the news since preparations such as candidate number assignments and campaign plans were already in place. However, once it became a news topic, questions about the election's direction in the area naturally arose. He said the best course is to perform his duties well to demonstrate his capabilities and let the public decide. He urged residents of District 33, covering Bang Phlat and Bangkok Noi districts, to follow and consider the country’s legal processes. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue campaigning and communicating Pheu Thai’s concrete policies to serve the people fully.
