Pichan explained that the campaign sign damage was not caused by the Prachachon Party team but by a hired company. He apologized to the public and Pheu Thai candidates for the incident and stressed strict control over sign installations nationwide to prevent recurrence.
On 30 Dec 2025, Mr. Pichan Chaowaphatwanong, Executive Committee member of the Prachachon Party and campaign manager for Bangkok, gave an interview at Sports Hall 2, Bangkok Youth Center (Thai-Japanese) regarding images and reports showing a hired company installing campaign signs, which resulted in damage to Pheu Thai's campaign signs. Mr. Pichan confirmed that the incident did not involve the Prachachon Party team directly.
Mr. Pichan further stated that the party’s candidates hired external companies to install campaign signs. The party has continuously instructed candidates nationwide, including in Bangkok, that if they hire companies to install signs, campaign staff must closely supervise the work to prevent issues such as covering or damaging signs of candidates from other parties.
In this case, the hired company proceeded without campaign staff supervision, which may have caused a lack of caution and care. It is unclear whether the workers knew the signs they affected belonged to other candidates or if there was a misunderstanding from their tasks or instructions.
: Mr. Pichan added that the Prachachon Party sincerely apologizes to the public for this incident and also apologizes to Pheu Thai candidates. He affirmed that the incident was not politically motivated to create conflict or undermine other parties’ campaigns in any way. After the incident, the party has again instructed all candidates nationwide to enforce stricter and more careful supervision of campaign sign installations, especially when hiring outside companies, to ensure close oversight and prevent such incidents from recurring.
