
Prime Minister Anutin summoned Foreign Minister Sihasak and Defense Minister Gen. Natthaphon to stress vigilance along the Thai-Cambodian border during the 2026 New Year period, following the expiration of the 72-hour ceasefire. He affirmed that the government will do its utmost to protect the safety of the people.
At 5:00 p.m. on 30 December 2025, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul invited Foreign Minister Sihasak Puangkeaw, Defense Minister Gen. Natthaphon Nakpanich, Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry Atthit Sampanrat, and Secretary-General to the Prime Minister Traisulee Traisoranakul to join a discussion at the Thai Khu Fah Building, Government House. This followed the completion of the 72-hour ceasefire period as outlined in the Joint Statement.
The Prime Minister instructed relevant agencies to maintain continuous surveillance along the Thai-Cambodian border to prevent any violations of the agreement during the New Year holiday and to reassure the public. He reaffirmed that the government is committed to ensuring the utmost safety of its citizens.
