Economic Party Explains Why Gen. Rangsee, 10th on Party List, Wants to Solve National Problems

The Economic Party explained the reason why Gen. Rangsee Kitiyanansap, a prime ministerial candidate ranked 10th on the party list, said he does not want to be an MP but desires to join the executive branch to solve the country's problems.

On 30 Dec 2025 GMT+7, the Economic Party held a press conference addressing recent discussions about the party over the past 2-3 days, especially concerning... General Rangsee Kitiyanansap, leader of the Economic Party and prime ministerial candidate, has decided to run as a party list member of parliament candidate ranked 10th. He explained that if he ran as the first on the party list and only a few candidates were elected, he would be unable to accomplish anything. Therefore, he wants the decision to rest with the people. The party aims to receive at least 3 million votes to secure Gen. Rangsee's seat in parliament, based on 2019 election comparisons.

Regarding critics doubting the party will secure even one seat from this plan, Gen. Rangsee is confident they will reach 3 million votes and leaves the decision to the people. The top 1-10 party list candidates must be the driving force behind pushing the law to make 'corruption punishable by death.'

On 29 Dec 2026 GMT+7, Gen. Rangsee personally clarified his position at number 10 on the party list during the program Inside Thailand, expressing happiness that the media showed interest. The Economic Party has 10 key policies and a strategy that, if trusted by the people, party list numbers 1-9 will focus on legislative work without holding political offices, pushing law reforms in parliament. He said he is not suited for legislative work but will focus on driving mega projects to revive the macro and micro economy.

"If I were number 1 and only I got elected, what would that mean besides selling dreams? This plan prepares for the people to give the majority to the Economic Party. We are ready to work and there will be no infighting over ministerial positions," said Gen. Rangsee.

He added that old-style politics means being both MP and minister while missing parliamentary sessions causing collapse. He does not want that because the country is in a dangerous zone. Ultimately, it depends on the people. He emphasized that his political involvement is not to be an MP but to solve national problems.
