Yotchanan Campaigns in Districts 14-15, Calls for a Year of Opportunity Confident Phonphum Will Return as MP

Yotchanan campaigns actively in districts 14-15, listening to Bangkok residents who want a 20-baht electric train fare. He believes Phonphum will return as an MP. He calls for looking ahead to make this a year of opportunity. Julpan reveals Pheu Thai has set up a team to monitor election fraud.

At 07:00 on 31 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Yotchanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai party's prime ministerial candidate, . Mr. Julpan Amornwiwat, party leader and Pheu Thai prime ministerial candidate, Mr. Pongkawin Jungroongkit, deputy party leader, led Mr. Phonphum Wipathipumprate, candidate for Bangkok MP in district 15, and Mr. Pongsakorn Rattanaruangwattana, candidate for Bangkok MP in district 14, on a campaign tour.

The atmosphere was lively, with vendors and shoppers welcoming them warmly and sharing concerns, especially about cost of living and the desire for a 20-baht flat fare on electric trains to ease living expenses, plus the retirement lottery. At one point, citizens presented Yotchanan with a red garland wishing him good luck. Yotchanan smiled in response and appealed for votes, saying, “In this district, number 6, Pheu Thai is number 9, and next year 69; you must choose both the person and the party. Please don't make the wrong choice.” During the campaign, Yotchanan also tried grilling pork with a vendor and paid respects to monks collecting alms at the market area.

Yotchanan said Phonphum has consistently visited the area and never abandoned the people. He is confident Phonphum will be re-elected this time. With one month left, there is no problem with momentum. The key is delivering the right policies to local people, which will help regain votes. Conversations with residents revealed concerns about cost of living, debt, and their anticipation for a 20-baht flat train fare, which can be implemented within 3-6 months. For those not near train lines, there is a 10-baht air-conditioned bus policy and electricity at 3.70 baht per unit. This can be achieved by reintroducing renewable energy systems like solar cells to sustainably reduce electricity costs. The retirement lottery policy, which promotes savings for old age, can proceed immediately if the party forms the government.

Mr. Phonphum expressed confidence in winning the election in his area. He said that after missing out last time, he has continuously visited the area over the past three years. Today, people can compare between hype and actual work. Pheu Thai is ready with policies and local candidates. He is hopeful for this election.

Then Yotchanan spoke regarding Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, who said he wants a fair election without underhanded tactics. Yotchanan affirmed, the important thing is to move forward, focusing on the country and the suffering people. Next year will be a year when many things happen but also a year of opportunity. He sees this as most important. Looking back to see who is better is pointless. They want to give people a gift of policies that restore their quality of life.

Meanwhile, Julpan revealed that regarding election fraud, Pheu Thai has set up a monitoring team led by Mr. Chusak Sirinil, deputy party leader. The party is serious about this issue because it has been targeted multiple times. They believe fraud will occur, so candidates must watch carefully, as well as agencies like the Election Commission (EC) and the justice system. Early in the election period, vote-buying may not have started, but vigilance is critical.
