
Two Rakchat Party prime ministerial candidates, “Chaiwut and Jes,” led their team of MP candidates to pay respects at the City Pillar Shrine, seeking New Year blessings for good fortune before launching their campaign on the first day of the Year of the Horse.
On 1 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn, leader of the Rakchat Party and its top prime ministerial candidate, together with Jes Tonawanik, the party’s second PM candidate, led a team of party-list MP candidates including Ekpita Iamkong-ek, Chanin Pintong, Chaiporn Jirawinitchanan, and Ratthapoom Vallikul, as well as Bangkok MP candidates, to pay respects at the City Pillar Shrine for auspicious blessings to begin the new year 2026.
The atmosphere was warm and lively, attracting many locals and tourists who came to pay their respects at the shrine, offering encouragement, taking photos, and exchanging New Year greetings in a friendly manner.
Afterwards, Chaiwut, Jes, and the MP candidate team proceeded to the Maha Jesada Bodin Pavilion plaza to pay respects at the royal statue of King Nangklao (Rama III), also known as Prince Jesada Bodin, on the same day.
