
The Election Commission reported that over 12 days of early voting registration, including from abroad, 884,290 people have registered. They explained that if someone registered for early voting but changes their mind, they can cancel and vote together with the referendum on 8 Feb 2026.
On 1 Jan 2026, the Election Commission Office summarized the number of people who registered to vote early before election day, including within constituencies, outside constituencies, and from abroad. Over the 12 days of registration from 20-31 Dec 2025, a total of 884,290 people registered. Among them, 4,557 registered within constituencies, 807,121 outside constituencies, and 72,612 from abroad.
For those with essential duties who cannot vote on 8 Feb or those living abroad, including officials assigned to work on election day, registration was open from 20 Dec 2025 to 5 Jan 2026.
Additionally, people who registered for early voting but change their mind or are unable to vote on 1 Feb 2026—since early voting for the referendum is not available—can cancel their early voting registration and instead vote alongside the referendum on 8 Feb 2026.
