
Yossanan, wearing shirt number 9, led Pheu Thai's Bangkok MP and party list candidates running at Lumphini Park, where the public wished him success as prime minister. He met Chadchart, exchanged fist bumps, ran side by side, and discussed public park policies to promote good health.
At 6:30 AM on 2 Jan 2026 GMT+7 at Lumphini Park, Mr. Yossanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, together with Mr. Julphan Amornwiwat, party leader and also a prime ministerial candidate, led MP candidates and party leaders for a morning exercise run. Participants included Mr. Pongkawin Jungroongkit, deputy party leader and party list candidate; Mr. Sukit Srichomkwan, Pheu Thai spokesperson and party list candidate; Mr. Chanin Rungthanakiat, deputy secretary-general and party list candidate; Dr. Yanakit Huangsap, candidate for Bangkok MP, district 1, number 8; Mr. David Mokornpong, Bangkok MP candidate, district 2, number 5; Ms. Boonyakorn Damrongrat, Bangkok MP candidate, district 4, number 4; Mr. Sahasawat Weeramongkolkul, Bangkok MP candidate, district 6, number 4; Mr. Puttipong Intrasuwan, Bangkok MP candidate, district 7, number 3; Mr. Kittipol Ruayfupan, Bangkok MP candidate, district 25, number 4; Mr. Saranyasan Veerakulsuntorn, Bangkok MP candidate, district 26, number 12; Mr. Thongtham Vechachai, party list candidate; Ms. Kattiya Sawatphol, party list candidate; Mr. Surakiat Thienthong, party list candidate; and Mr. Wiput Sriwaurai, president of the Bangkok Council.
Upon arrival, Mr. Yossanan, Mr. Julphan, and their team stretched at Lumphini Park’s designated stretching area before leading the Bangkok MP and party list candidates on a 2.5-kilometer run around the park. Mr. Yossanan wore a white T-shirt with the number 9 printed on the back, representing Pheu Thai’s campaign number, paired with sweatpants.
During the run, Mr. Yossanan greeted park visitors and received well wishes from the public for becoming prime minister. He also met Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt and Robert Godec, former U.S. Ambassador to Thailand.
Mr. Yossanan exchanged fist bumps with Governor Chadchart and ran alongside him, during which Governor Chadchart asked Mr. Yossanan, “How are you doing, Doctor?” The two then ran together around Lumphini Park and discussed approaches to address health issues, emphasizing the importance of this matter.
Governor Chadchart briefly stated he welcomes all political parties to collaborate so that public parks become a policy to promote citizens’ good health.
Meanwhile, Mr. Yossanan said he is a regular runner and feels that public parks are an important issue. He hopes Bangkok and other areas will have such parks.
