Student Loan Fund Invites Borrowers with Overdue Payments to Reduce Debt Burden via Online Restructuring

Starting the new year, the Student Loan Fund invites borrowers with overdue payments to reduce their debt burden by restructuring their debt online.

On 2 January 2026, Ms. Airin Panrit, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that the Student Loan Fund invites borrowers with overdue debts to begin the new year by signing online debt restructuring contracts. This aims to ease the burden by allowing borrowers to plan repayments appropriately, paying equal monthly installments by the 5th of each month, with a maximum repayment period of 15 years. Guarantors will be released from obligations upon contract signing. If borrowers complete repayments without breaching contract terms, the fund will grant a 100% waiver of all penalties accrued before the contract and will cease legal actions and enforcement.

Borrowers can conveniently sign debt restructuring contracts online by themselves, saving travel costs, through the website www.studentloan.or.th, with identity verification and electronic signing via the Pao Tang and ThaID applications.

“This initiative offers borrowers the opportunity to resume repayments and reduces the number of borrowers who may face legal or enforcement proceedings. The Student Loan Fund will then recycle the recovered funds to continuously provide educational opportunities to future students,” she said.
