Puangchon Thai Party Performs City Pillar Shrine Ceremony to Mark New Year and Launch Election Campaign

Launching their election campaign, Eksit led Puangchon Thai Party candidates in a ceremony at Bangkok's City Pillar Shrine to seek auspicious beginnings for the new year. They are confident of securing seats in Bangkok and Samut Prakan and believe there will be no political incidents during the process.

On 2 Jan 2026 GMT+7, at the Bangkok City Pillar Shrine, Mr. Eksit Khunanthakul, leader of the Puangchon Thai Party, together with party executives, party-list candidates, and candidates for all 25 Bangkok constituencies, held a worship ceremony at the shrine to seek blessings for auspiciousness and success in the new year, demonstrating their readiness to work for the nation.

Mr. Eksit said today’s ceremony was to seek auspiciousness for candidates in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and party-list candidates. He prayed for election victory and urged the public to support Puangchon Thai Party. The party’s policy focuses on income generation, especially through tourism expansion. Thailand needs to broaden its tourism base to attract more tourists worldwide, highlighting landmarks like the City Pillar Shrine and Wat Phra Kaew, which require promotion to international visitors. The party also supports promoting local Bangkok attractions, such as Yaowarat Road, a unique Thai charm that still lacks adequate publicity. Puangchon Thai Party sees it as their role to promote these sites and bring revenue into the country, including supporting the development of new tourist destinations to attract quality tourists and increase investment in Thailand.

The party leader confirmed that Puangchon Thai Party is fully prepared for campaigning. All candidates are continuously meeting citizens, presenting party policies focused on solving daily livelihood issues, developing human resources, creating jobs and careers, and attracting investment to boost national income and revive the economy. The party plans to hold campaign events in every province with candidates and conduct daily outreach. They are confident of winning in their target areas of Bangkok and Samut Prakan because their Bangkok candidates are well-known and experienced, while Samut Prakan candidates are employers and entrepreneurs who will support both formal and informal workers—currently over 20 million nationwide—by helping them access funding and welfare fairly.

Since receiving ballot number 23, Puangchon Thai Party has seen positive public response. Previously little known, the party’s recognition has grown through campaigning. As a new party with a short launch period, they have worked hard and plan to field candidates in 100 constituencies plus 41 party-list candidates, expecting to secure a significant number of seats in parliament. Mr. Eksit is confident there will be no political accidents and that the election will proceed as scheduled. He urged Thai citizens nationwide to exercise their voting rights fully, including early voting on 1 Feb and general voting on 8 Feb.

Following the ceremony, the party leader led Puangchon Thai Party candidates for Bangkok constituencies and party-list candidates on a lively parade around Bangkok to introduce themselves to citizens during the New Year holiday.
