Eknat is actively supporting "Ek Sai Mai Must Survive" in the Bangkok campaign, believing the market has opened to Bhumjaithai after polls show 50% of voters still undecided. He sees the momentum of "Uncle Nu" following closely behind "Uncle Tu" and boasts that this time there is a chance to establish a foothold in Bangkok.
At 16:40 on 2 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Eknat Prompan, leading Bhumjaithai as the Bangkok area commander, visited Sai Mai District 11 to support Mr. Ekaphop Luangprasert, also known as Ek Sai Mai, Bhumjaithai’s parliamentary candidate for Bangkok, campaigning and speaking on his first mini-stage in the capital.
Eknat began his speech by saying that today Ekaphop is accompanied by him. He dislikes beating around the bush and said this time Bhumjaithai is using Eknat’s experience in Bangkok, gained since age 25. This time, all 33 districts have carefully selected candidates. He said Ekaphop was love at first sight and promised to dispel doubts about his influence. He is confident Bangkok residents are more receptive than before.
Eknat added that during the election, other parties will advertise giving 300 or 400 baht, talk about wages or allowances, or even give free money. But he questioned how policies could be implemented without funding, calling those promises empty dreams. Bhumjaithai doesn’t do that. Today, they promote policies like volunteer nurses and soldiers, explaining exactly which budgets will be allocated as compensation. He stressed that this time Bhumjaithai is different with realistic policies, explaining how and who will execute them, naming Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, Mr. Ekniti Nititanprapas, and Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew.
Eknat invited voters to choose Ekaphop plus Bhumjaithai. When voters support Anutin Charnvirakul, Bhumjaithai’s leader, they also get Eknat, the grassroots fighter against vested interests; Ekniti, the professional finance minister; Supajee, a strong professional woman; and Sihasak, who will make Thailand stand out on the global stage. He asked people in Sai Mai to support Bhumjaithai’s dream team.
Eknat commented on Bhumjaithai’s reception in Bangkok after New Year’s visits to villages. He acknowledged Bhumjaithai has never had MPs in Bangkok, so their candidates must work harder. During New Year, he instructed candidates to visit areas, and alongside Ms. Supamas Isarapakdee, a leader and Bangkok commander, they reviewed progress daily. Since many villages held merit-making and almsgiving events, candidates were encouraged to participate extensively, resulting in Bhumjaithai candidates covering all 33 districts from morning until evening.
Eknat emphasized that their greatest strength is connecting heart to heart with people and reaching them effectively. Regarding feedback, he said responses are good and candidates feel motivated. They have become one of the options for Bangkok voters who are still deciding. The next 30 to 40 days are critical, and polls show about 40 to 50 percent remain undecided.
“We know Bangkok is a challenging arena for Bhumjaithai, but I never give up. I enjoy challenges and have faced them all my life. I always say we have only determination. This time Bangkok is open; although people have not decided yet, they are willing to listen to all parties’ policies. For the first time, I see Bangkok people paying special attention to Bhumjaithai,” Eknat said.
When asked if "Uncle Nu" (Anutin Charnvirakul) can compete with "Uncle Tu" (Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha), Eknat said, “Uncle Nu follows Uncle Tu closely.” He added that from his interactions in Bangkok, people are interested in policies addressing the Thai-Cambodian border issue. They often ask if a border wall will be built to ensure government efforts to establish border areas and sovereignty are not wasted. Bhumjaithai has affirmed that they will build this wall to protect against all threats, and Bangkok residents want policies supporting a strong military.
Regarding Bhumjaithai’s introduction of their dream team—Ms. Supajee Suthamphan, Mr. Ekniti Nititanprapas, and Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew—helping with campaigning in Bangkok, Eknat said this time Bhumjaithai is different. They clearly announce policies and explain how to implement them. Moreover, if voters choose Bhumjaithai and Anutin as prime minister, these three professionals will join the government, holding key strategic ministries.
In closing, Eknat said Bhumjaithai definitely has the chance to establish a base in Bangkok. They are ready to overcome all obstacles to reach the finish line successfully.
