"Niphit" exposes election fraud. In the 2026 election, bribes of up to 2,000 baht per person were used to buy votes; he urged people in Phatthalung to teach a lesson by accepting money but not voting accordingly, saying "Let it end in Phatthalung."
On 3 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Niphit Indrasombat, former Minister of Culture and Democrat Party (Democrat Party) leader, posted on Facebook about vote-buying in the parliamentary election, headlined "Let it end in Phatthalung." The main point was that vote-buying in the South started in Phatthalung Province in 2019 by applying the "Buriram model." This involved copying ID cards and buying votes according to the number of copied cards. When this method proved effective, it spread throughout the South.
It became known as a vote-buying method called the "Phatthalung model."
Niphit stated that since it began in Phatthalung, it is the responsibility of Phatthalung people to join together to "eliminate" this method by "accepting the money but punishing by not voting."
Today, there is talk of vote-buying with gray money of 1,500 to 2,000 baht per person, which is considered the highest in Thailand. "Since this vote-buying started in Phatthalung, it must end in Phatthalung."
