Abhisit led the Democrat Party in unveiling 9 candidates for Songkhla MPs, highlighting a mix of experience and youthful energy, and pledging to build honest politics. Meanwhile, Dr. Kardee and Sakoltee led the team of Bangkok MP candidates in campaigning, promoting the "Thailand Ending Poverty" policy.

At 16:00 on 3 January 2026, at the Democrat Party Coordination Center, Zone 2, Rat Yindee Road, Hat Yai Subdistrict, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party (Democrat), together with Korn Chatikavanij and Satit Wongnongtoey, deputy party leaders for missions, traveled to preside over the launch ceremony of the Democrat Party's 9 prospective candidates for Members of Parliament (MPs) in Songkhla Province. This was in preparation for the 8 February 2026 election under the slogan "Thailand Ending Poverty with Skilled People."

Abhisit introduced the nine prospective constituency MPs as follows:

Abhisit said that these nine candidates volunteer to address livelihood issues and improve the quality of life for the people of Songkhla. They are fully prepared physically and mentally to dedicate themselves to serving the community. The core of modern politics is not just promising but demonstrating through "honesty" or transparency, which is the foundation for sustainable economic growth and truly helping people escape poverty. In addition to unveiling the nine Songkhla MP candidates, the party held a "Village Speaker" event to listen directly to local residents about various problems, including urban development and livelihood issues, especially the recent major flooding in Songkhla city. Abhisit and the nine Democrat candidates gathered to listen and discuss with residents of Hat Yai and nearby areas, focusing on preventing recurrent flooding, restoring the southern border trade economy, and urban development. This approach emphasizes politics focused on the people's benefit.

Dr. Kardee and Sakoltee Lead Bangkok MP Candidates in Campaigning, Promoting "Thailand Ending Poverty"

Dr. Kardee Liao Phairoj, Democrat Party prime ministerial candidate and deputy party leader responsible for policy, together with Sakoltee Phattiyakul, deputy party leader in charge of Bangkok, joined forces to campaign alongside Bangkok MP candidates. They walked side-by-side with MP candidate for Bangkok’s 18th district, number 7, Mr. Cherdpun Tipbaiyuen (Pun), covering Nong Chok District (Khok Faet, Lam Phak Chi, and Lam Toiting Subdistricts), Lat Krabang District (Lam Pla Thio Subdistrict), and Min Buri District (Saen Saeb Subdistrict), and with candidate number 11 for the 19th district, Ms. Kan Wanadornwarisarn (Kan), covering Min Buri District (except Saen Saeb Subdistrict) and Saphan Sung District (except Thap Chang Subdistrict).

Sakoltee revealed that this is not the Democrat Party’s first time campaigning in Bangkok districts. The "New Sky Bangkok" team has been actively canvassing since nomination day, with the party leader and prime ministerial candidate joining the Bangkok MP candidates daily from morning to evening.

"Today, once again, Dr. Kardee and I joined hands to walk and meet the public, supporting the campaigns of two Bangkok MP candidates. We emphasize the main idea of 'Thailand Ending Poverty' with policies addressing Bangkok residents’ problems, focusing on building a transparent, accountable society, creating economic opportunities, and enabling Bangkok people to generate income to improve their quality of life, while addressing urban inequality," said Sakoltee.
