
The government has introduced a measure allowing interest-free loans at state pawnshops for three months, with a credit limit of up to 5,000 baht per person, limited to one loan per person per pawn ticket, from 1 to 31 January 2026 GMT+7.
On 4 January 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Airin Panrit, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister’s Office, announced that the Treasury Office (TO), an agency under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), is responding to the government’s policy aimed at ensuring all citizens have equal access to opportunities for improving their quality of life.
“We invite the public to use the interest-free pawn loan service for three months, with a loan limit of up to 5,000 baht per person and one loan per person per pawn ticket, available from 1 to 31 January 2026 GMT+7. This initiative aims to help increase liquidity, allowing people to start the year with peace of mind, transparency, and fairness,” Ms. Airin said.
The Treasury Office under the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security is prepared to assist all citizens. Services are available at all Treasury Office branches nationwide, including in Bangkok, surrounding metropolitan areas, and regional branches in convenient locations for the public.
