Poll Reveals Songkhla Voters Favor Democrat Party and Abhisit for Prime Minister

The NIDA Poll reveals that in the 2026 election, people in Songkhla would choose "Abhisit" as Prime Minister, with "Anutin" ranking third and "Teng" fourth. The Democrat Party remains the top political party choice, while the People's Party ranks third.


On 4 Jan 2025 GMT+7, the NIDA Poll Center of the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) released the results of a survey titled “Songkhla Voters for the 2026 Election.” The survey was conducted from 20 to 25 Dec 2025 GMT+7 among 1,067 residents aged 18 and over with voting rights in Songkhla province. The sample covered various education levels, occupations, and incomes. The sampling used probability sampling from NIDA Poll’s Master Sample database with multi-stage sampling. Data were collected via telephone interviews, with a margin of error not exceeding 0.05 at a 95.0% confidence level.


The survey asked which individual people in Songkhla would support as Prime Minister today. The results showed: 1st place, 40.67% chose Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva (Democrat Party); 2nd place, 24.18% said they have not found a suitable candidate yet; 3rd place, 12.56% chose Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul (Bhumjaithai Party); 4th place, 11.43% chose Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut (People's Party); 5th place, 2.16% chose General Rangsi Kityanandhaphap (Economic Party); 6th place, 1.78% chose General Prayut Chan-o-cha; 7th place, 1.41% chose Mr. Peeraphan Saleerutthiphak (United Thai Nation Party). Additionally, 5.81% named others including Mr. Julphan Amornwiwat and Mr. Yotchanan Wongsawat (Pheu Thai Party), Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul (People's Party), Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan (Thai Sang Thai Party), Mr. Veerayut Kanchuchat and Ms. Supajee Suthamphan (People's Party), Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat (Thai Khao Mai Party), General Prawit Wongsuwan (Palang Pracharath Party), Mr. Wan Muhamad Noor Matha (Prachachart Party), Mr. Suriya Juangroongruangkit (Pheu Thai Party), Captain Thammanat Prompao (Kla Party), Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat (Kla Party), and some chose not to vote (Vote No).



Regarding political parties people in Songkhla tend to choose for party-list MPs, the results were: 1st place, 45.45% chose the Democrat Party; 2nd place, 19.49% undecided; 3rd place, 15.09% chose the People's Party; 4th place, 11.90% chose the Bhumjaithai Party; 5th place, 2.16% chose United Thai Nation Party; 6th place, 1.97% chose Pheu Thai Party; 7th place, 1.78% chose the Economic Party. Other responses totaling 2.16% included Prachachart Party, Palang Pracharath Party, Kla Party, Thai Khao Mai Party, Thai Sang Thai Party, Thai Pakdee Party, and some who chose not to vote (Vote No).


Finally, when asked about political parties people in Songkhla are likely to choose for constituency MPs, the results showed: 1st place, 44.42% chose the Democrat Party; 2nd place, 23.81% undecided; 3rd place, 13.96% chose the People's Party; 4th place, 10.87% chose the Bhumjaithai Party; 5th place, 1.87% each for Pheu Thai Party and United Thai Nation Party; 6th place, 1.22% chose the Economic Party. Other responses totaling 1.98% included Kla Party, Prachachart Party, Palang Pracharath Party, Chart Thai Pattana Party, Thai Khao Mai Party, Thai Sang Thai Party, Thai Pakdee Party, and some who chose not to vote (Vote No).
