Khunying Sudarat affirmed she will continue with legal action against Dome Pakorn Lam despite his apology. Jinny is willing to provide police testimony but will avoid a face-to-face confrontation. She emphasized this is not a personal matter, but a political party's duty to change societal mindsets and respect human dignity.
On 4 Jan 2026 at 15:30 at Lido, Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, leader and prime ministerial candidate of the Thai Sang Thai Party, spoke about the case involving renowned singer and actor Dome Pakorn Lam, who allegedly made harassing comments toward Miss Yotsuda Lilapanyalert, or Jinny, her daughter. She explained that Dome had contacted them before the New Year through intermediaries, not directly, expressing intent to meet. When news broke that Dome visited the party office, they were not present, so he left a gift basket with the security guard. It was communicated through intermediaries that discussions would take place after the New Year. She reaffirmed that this action is not personal but a societal call to stop objectifying women and to respect human value—regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
"Today, there is a clear intention to pursue legal proceedings so society realizes that objectifying women should end in this era," she stated.
As a political party, Thai Sang Thai views this not as a personal issue but as a responsibility to change social attitudes to respect human dignity. She stressed that anyone subjected to such treatment—not just her daughter but all women—deserve respect equally.
Asked about plans to increase penalties for harassment, especially toward celebrities or influencers who disregard the law, Khunying Sudarat said the law is newly enacted, and they are reviewing legal loopholes to tighten protections. This is a key policy to enhance societal safety against physical and psychological abuse.
When asked if Dome's apology would be accepted, she reiterated that this is not about revenge but about mutual respect as a community and family. No one should be demeaned regardless of their circumstances. She added that any dialogue would have to happen first, and as of now, no contact has been received from Dome after the New Year.
Regarding whether Jinny would give police testimony at Phahonyothin Police Station and face the accused, Khunying Sudarat said legally a confrontation is unlikely. Jinny initially felt hurt but regained composure to handle the situation calmly and rationally without emotion.
The next steps will follow legal procedures, with Jinny scheduled to give testimony, though no appointment has been set yet.
Meanwhile, Miss Yotsuda stated that further appointments with her legal team are required after the New Year to proceed with the case.
