
The Election Commission (EC) reports that over 1.5 million people have registered for early voting within constituencies, outside constituencies, and abroad during the 16-day registration period. Meanwhile, 620,000 people have registered to vote in the referendum outside constituencies and abroad. The EC emphasizes that today is the final day to register.
On 5 January 2026, the Office of the Election Commission (EC) summarized the number of people who have registered to exercise their voting rights before election day, both within their constituencies, outside their constituencies, and abroad. Over the 16 days that the early voting registration was open—from 20 December 2025 to 4 January 2026—a total of 1,531,729 people registered to vote early. It was found that
Today (5 January) is the final day for registration. Citizens who have essential business preventing them from voting on 8 February 2026, those living abroad, and officials assigned to duties on election day can still register until midnight today.

At the same time, the EC office also summarized the number of people who registered to vote in the referendum outside constituencies and abroad. Registration was open from 3 to 5 January 2026. After two days of registration, on 3 and 4 January, a total of 620,476 people registered to vote in the referendum, including 574,719 outside constituencies and 45,757 abroad.
Today is also the last day to register for those wishing to vote outside their constituencies on 8 February, which is election day. Registration can still be done through three channels:
1. Submit to the district registrar, local registrar, ambassador, or authorized agent before 16:30 today.
2. Submit by mail; the postal stamp date will be considered the official date.
3. Submit online (only for outside constituency and abroad voters) available 24 hours, with the system automatically closing at midnight Thailand time today.
