Peoples Party to Introduce Professional Ministers, Focus on Justice Ministry Reform

Sirikanya hinted that the People's Party is preparing to introduce professional ministers if it becomes the government, focusing on the Justice Ministry seat to reform the entire system.

On 5 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Ms. Sirikanya Tansakul, deputy leader of the People's Party, joined a campaign parade supporting Kanthapon Duangampon, a candidate for MP. She expressed confidence in retaining the Din Daeng area due to strong work by the incumbent MP, and revealed a key highlight of the final campaign phase: the gradual unveiling of the “policy administration team,” or prospective ministers responsible for various ministries.

Ms. Sirikanya stated that from 5 to 11 Jan, the party will introduce those selected to serve as ministers representing the party, all “professionals” from outside the party with specialized expertise. Especially for the Justice Minister position, this person will hold ideas to reform the entire justice process—from police and courts to the Department of Corrections—to truly restore justice to the people. Additionally, on 11 Jan, the party will announce 10 main policies selected from 200 to address issues of livelihood, cost of living, and PM2.5 pollution affecting Bangkok residents.

She also reaffirmed the campaign “With us, no grey areas,” explaining that “grey” refers to grey-area capital and illegal businesses. If any political party is connected to such capital groups, the People's Party will not join forces with them. Regarding past attacks over amendments to Section 112, Ms. Sirikanya sees this as a normal part of elections, where differing opinions arise. The party is ready to explain and encourage all candidates to continue communicating their policies without being deterred by misinformation.
