
Anutin confirmed he has no plan to involve his son in campaigning, stating he does not think of competing against anyone in the election but only aims to serve the country. He declined to comment on the "Theng" campaign as a better prime minister and clarified that the photo with actress Balloon means nothing for either father or son.
At 12:30 p.m. at the Ministry of Interior, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, revealed after delivering policy guidelines to ministry officials that he asked civil servants to remain neutral during the election. He explained that neutrality means not favoring or pressuring anyone in their official capacity, but personally, he cannot control individual actions.
Regarding the current trend of several political parties involving their sons and daughters in campaigning and whether he would consider involving his son in politics, Anutin laughed and firmly said, "No." He added that his family members take care of themselves and his son has not shown any political interest. When a reporter teased whether the prime minister’s good looks can still compete with the younger generation, Anutin replied, "You should ask my wife."
When asked if there would be any surprise moves in the final phase of campaigning, Anutin said they are sincere and serious, aiming to gain the public's trust by delivering on promises if elected. He said there is no need for surprise tactics or confrontations with others.
Regarding Bhumjaithai Party’s policies for Bangkok to win over voters, Anutin said they are presenting the party’s policies focusing on the economy, society, border security, environment, and addressing the four disasters.
Concerning the Pheu Thai Party’s campaign in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya today, which declared a sweep of seats in the central region, especially in major constituencies, Anutin said it is understandable that every party wants to be number one wherever they campaign. It would be unusual to tell people not to vote for other parties. Bhumjaithai also hopes to be elected wherever they campaign.
When asked about the target of winning more than 100 seats and what challenges Bhumjaithai faces, Anutin said he has never thought about competing against anyone but only about serving the country and working for the people.
Regarding the People’s Party leader Nattapong Ruangpanyawut’s campaign claiming to be a better prime minister than previous ones, Anutin was silent for a moment before saying, "I don’t know. I’ve never praised myself." When asked about Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, leader of the Progressive Movement and campaign assistant for the People’s Party, who urged voters to give the party a chance or else not vote again in four years, Anutin nodded and said, "He is right."
When asked about criticism that border issues with Cambodia should not be used in campaigning, Anutin did not respond, only listening to the question.
Clarifying the issue of a leaked photo with the sexy actress Balloon, Anutin said there is nothing between father and son.
Additionally, Anutin explained about the social media jokes regarding a photo with Balloon Pintusuda Tanpaireh, the sexy actress, taken during New Year celebrations. He said they met at the event and he was surprised the photo was released. When reporters noted that she posted it herself leading to social media jokes, Anutin said there is definitely nothing between father and son.
