“Tun Jitpas” Visits Sa Kaeo to Support Rocket Attack Victims, Clarifies Party Confusion Among Locals

“Tun Jitpas” explains confusion as locals mistake her party affiliation, confronting her with questions about the military’s purpose before continuing to visit victims of rocket strikes on homes.

On 5 January 2026, Ms. Jitpas Kridakorn (Tun) visited Sa Kaeo province to support the Thai Progressive Party’s candidate in the parliamentary election campaign. Her key mission was to visit and encourage residents affected by BM-21 rocket strikes that damaged their homes completely. The victims are still awaiting government relief and have had to evacuate to shelters. Ms. Jitpas assured she would expedite coordination to push for relief efforts to restore their quality of life as soon as possible.

Later in the evening, while meeting local vendors at the Khlong Thom market in Wang Nam Yen, a minor commotion occurred when some residents mistakenly confronted her with critical questions about the military’s role and the hot topic “What is the military for?” This misunderstanding arose because they confused Ms. Jitpas with a politician from another party involved in that controversy.

However, Ms. Jitpas promptly and politely clarified that she belongs to the Thai Progressive Party and explained the party’s policies, which helped the locals understand and diffused the situation peacefully. She then proceeded to support Mr. Kiattisak Suddan (Joe), the candidate for MP in constituency 2, number 3, continuing the campaign amid warm welcomes from the community at Khlong Thom market.
