“Abhisit and Sakoltee” are delighted by the nationwide public response, especially in Bangkok, where the Democrat Party received a steady and warm welcome, while promoting policies that resonate with all groups.
On 6 January 2026 GMT+7, reporters noted that the “New Bangkok Sky” team, led by Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, the first prime ministerial candidate and Democrat Party leader, along with Mr. Sakoltee Phattiyakul, the party’s deputy leader overseeing Bangkok, and the Bangkok MP candidates, have been campaigning and meeting the public for a total of 11 days.
Mr. Sakoltee Phattiyakul, the Democrat Party’s deputy leader overseeing Bangkok, revealed that it has now been 11 days since the “New Bangkok Sky” team began meeting people across all 33 districts. He acknowledged that the public response to the Democrat Party has been both lively and warm in every area.
“In all 33 districts of Bangkok, I have heard citizens express happiness and joy at the return of party leader Abhisit, with hugs and genuine smiles welcoming him, accompanied by cheers encouraging the Democrat Party to stand firm and fight for victory in this election to return and improve the country’s governance.”
Mr. Sakoltee also confidently stated that beyond the longstanding supporters of the Democrat Party and its leader, many have risen to renew their support, greatly energizing party executives, MP candidates, members, and staff for this election.
“I admit that the public response to the party leader and the Democrat Party has improved day by day. I assure the public that the party’s policies are achievable and address the needs of all groups.”
Some of the Democrat Party’s policies include doubling personal income tax deductions, a provincial savings lottery paying out to 77 million people across 77 provinces every draw with refunds as savings if not won, integrated train and bus tickets starting at 5 baht and capped at 30 baht, truly free education, an education buffet allowing study of desired subjects, and housing as capital—providing seniors with lifelong free housing and spending money.
Mr. Sakoltee added that on 6 January, in the morning, Abhisit and he visited Phayathai and Din Daeng districts, including the Sri Din Daeng Market area supporting candidate Ms. Siripha Intawichian, candidate number 5. In the afternoon, they went to Thung Khru and Rat Burana districts (except Bang Pakok subdistrict) to support candidate Mr. Chayin Phuangsai, candidate number 2, meeting residents and merchants at the New Thung Khru Market areas (Pracha Uthit 59, 61) and Ying Ruay 76 Market (Pracha Uthit 76).
