Suchart Reveals Strong Support in Chonburi Vendors Demand Half-Half Plus Program, Says If Anutin Becomes PM, It Can Proceed Immediately

Suchart reveals strong positive response in Chonburi; vendors are demanding the 'Half-Half Plus' program. He states that if Anutin becomes prime minister again, the program can proceed immediately. He also lashes out at fake politicians who lie day after day, saying they will eventually be exposed and caught.

At 09:15 on 6 Jan 2026 GMT+7 at the Government House, Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT), spoke about the reception in Chonburi province. He said the response was very positive during his campaign at Bangsaen Beach. Vendors are still calling for the 'Half-Half Plus' program. The government had prepared for this, but a snap election dissolved the parliament before the second phase of the program could be implemented. What the vendors are asking for is something we have already considered, so there is no need to worry. Once the election concludes as we expect, with Anutin Charnvirakul as prime minister, everything can move forward immediately without further study. This continuity is a strength. Vendors have asked if he would run as a constituency MP this time, and he replied that it is important to prove that voters should choose representatives who are accessible and dependable. When asked what in the past 20 years has caused him discomfort, he expressed confidence that he has done his utmost for the people during that time, providing good choices for citizens, which is why he is running himself.

Regarding whether the 'Half-Half Plus' program will definitely be reinstated in the next election, Suchart said he cannot promise yet because the election is still ongoing. However, it is a government policy that Prime Minister Anutin has already implemented. If Anutin is re-elected as prime minister, having previously held the position, he can move forward with it immediately without further study. The program is popular with the people and is a promise that has been fulfilled. The prime minister's decisiveness over the past two months has demonstrated that we protect and care for the people with honor and dignity.

On whether teaming up with Sonthaya Khunpluem, the Bhumjaithai leader in Chonburi, will secure the province, Suchart said that discussing this could lead to attacks from the public or opposition parties. He explained that their alliance stems from previously differing party views, which is natural in a democracy. But once in the same party, working together is like family; they have grown up and matured politically together. He considers Sonthaya a younger brother and said when the time comes, they must be united. Being siblings is easier than politicians speaking in ways ordinary people don't understand, which is more frightening. Politicians from opposing sides—one going right, the other left—hold back progress. Many provinces suffer from such divisions, hindering development and failing to benefit the people. When united, development moves in the same direction. However, politicians lacking political ideology or concern for the people focus only on results and speak deceitfully, which is dangerous. People who are not genuine, who don't speak or act honestly, cannot lie forever and will inevitably be exposed. He reiterated that Chonburi stands as one and urged people to await the results on 8 Feb.
