Peoples Party Leader Urges Election Commission to Identify Those Behind Anti-Party Signs, Condemns Campaigns of Hatred

"Teng" urges the Election Commission to identify those who put up signs saying “No to the Khmer People's Party,” condemning the use of campaigns that create hatred. He insists that public response remains positive despite questions from citizens aiming to damage the party's popularity, emphasizing that the People's Party also focuses strongly on economic policies.

On 7 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Natthapong Rueangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, spoke about mysterious signs opposing the Khmer People's Party in Phitsanulok province. He said he did not know if the signs were made by any political party, group, or others. He believes that actively campaigning policies and clearly stating one’s political stance, allowing people to decide with information at the polls, is the best approach and that campaigns fostering hatred should not be used.

Regarding whether to take action against those responsible, Natthapong said it is the Election Commission’s duty to ensure transparent elections. He asked the commission to investigate thoroughly and identify the perpetrators, urging serious action.

Concerning repeated questions during his field visits that could undermine the People's Party's popularity, Natthapong said the party's reception remains fairly good to very good. He understands why people ask questions—he himself has been asked about the party’s stance on the military, constitutional amendments, and other issues. These questions do not shake or distract him. What they must do is continue meeting people who may still not understand the party.

On calls to prioritize livelihood issues over constitutional amendments, Natthapong said this problem is discussed daily. Their campaign trucks also emphasize economic livelihood policies equally. However, media coverage often sparks considerable debate. He wants to take every opportunity to present more livelihood policies on all platforms.
