"Jes - Chaiwat" led the Rakchat Party team running around Ang Kaew, speaking the Northern dialect to warmly engage Chiang Mai residents, affirming that this city belongs to everyone, not to any political party color or faction.
On 7 January 2026, Mr. Chaiwat Thanakmanusorn and Mr. Jes Tonawik, Rakchat Party prime ministerial candidates, arrived in Chiang Mai by jogging and showing off their dance moves, performing "Step No. 35" at Ang Kaew, Chiang Mai University, while speaking the Northern dialect with locals out exercising.
Mr. Jes said he is a descendant of Chiang Mai residents and an alumnus of Prince Royal’s College. He emphasized that Chiang Mai belongs to everyone and is not monopolized by orange or red political factions. He added that Thailand has only one capital city, which is Bangkok.
Afterwards, the party’s management team visited Ton Phayom Market to support their candidates’ campaigns. An orange seller gave them Honey Tangerines as encouragement with the phrase "If you don’t love the nation, I don’t know whom you would love." Additionally, Mr. Jes and Mr. Chaiwat spoke with and encouraged young Air Force soldiers visiting the market, praising their sacrifice and patriotism.
Mr. Jes addressed the sensitive issue of the Rakchat Party often being criticized for devaluing the military. He said the solution to the question "Why do we need soldiers?" is simple: those who previously misspoke should lower their pride and "apologize sincerely," acknowledging the military’s role. This is the easiest step yet has not been done. Without such an apology, it will be impossible to ask society for forgiveness and cooperation in developing the country.
