Teng Campaigns in Chonburi, Confronted by Woman on Institution Overthrow Explains Pop Party No Longer Has Section 112 Policy

"Teng Natthapong" campaigns in Chonburi aiming to secure all orange seats. He is confronted by a woman asking about overthrowing the institution. He explains the Pop Party no longer has a policy on Section 112 and affirms support for missions necessary for soldiers' welfare,.

On 7 Jan 2026 GMT+7 in Chonburi, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Pop Party (Pop Party), campaigned with Mr. Yodchai Phuengphon, candidate for Chonburi Constituency 9, Bang Lamung District (specifically Nong Prue Subdistrict). Mr. Natthapong said the candidate in Pattaya city is pushing tourism issues. Today, they met with small business operators, tourists, and locals to seek trust again. In the last election, the party received 47% of the party-list votes from Chonburi but did not win the whole province. This time, they seek trust again and are confident of holding their previous districts, especially the remaining three. From winning seven districts last time, they want Chonburi to be entirely orange. When asked if the previous election saw the major factions divided but now united, whether this would make Pop Party's work harder, Mr. Natthapong said challenges increase but believes the changing political context and shifting political sides will not shake them. Their focus remains on presenting the best policies to the people.

Another incident: a woman confronts him with questions about overthrowing the institution.

Reporters said that while Mr. Natthapong was introducing the candidate and urging voters to choose the Pop Party again, promising they would not be disappointed and would work earnestly this time, a woman responded. She said the country's three pillars—nation, religion, and monarchy—must not be toppled, especially the monarchy. She wanted to leave this message with him. Mr. Natthapong replied that she could share whatever she wished, as he did not disagree with this. The woman continued that since the second clash with Cambodia and the flooding in Hat Yai, she had seen no role from the Pop Party. Mr. Natthapong answered that the party leader had personally gone. The woman replied that the visits were superficial and shallow.

Mr. Natthapong explained that he had personally assisted people in Hat Yai, monitored the Thai-Cambodian border situation, and visited wounded soldiers injured by landmines. The Pop Party supports funding for purchasing Gripen fighter jets and conducting egg-dropping missions in Cambodia. He reaffirmed the party's support for necessary military welfare missions but acknowledged disagreement only on the matter of the coup. He emphasized that the Pop Party no longer has a policy regarding Section 112. They shook hands and stressed that both sides share patriotism.

The overall atmosphere of this campaign walk attracted good public interest. Villagers presented sunflowers and two crates of orange juice to Mr. Natthapong, with a message thanking him for not submitting to the old system. They wished the Pop Party to stand firm as the hope for ordinary people as long as possible, despite pressures and attacks, choosing to stand with the people. This is the reason they continue to believe in and support the Pop Party.
