Supachai filed complaints with the Election Commission (EC) and the Cyber Crime Division (PCD) against the People's Party and their supporters for spreading fake news online that maliciously distorts policies and party numbers by attaching Anutin's name to the People's Party number, aiming to mislead voters into marking the wrong number.
On 7 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Supachai Jaisamut, party-list candidate and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, stated that there is currently illegal election conduct on social media, involving the dissemination of false information that deceives and confuses voters. For example, Facebook posts inviting people to “vote number 46 nationwide, as Siea Noon has excellent policies,” with the number and name “Anutin” stylized as number 46, which is not Bhumjaithai's number but that of the People's Party. In reality, Bhumjaithai's number is 37 on the pink ballot paper. Such actions violate election law under Section 73.
Additionally, false statements defaming Bhumjaithai have been spread, such as claims regarding the party's stance on returning royal powers, increasing penalties under Section 112, raising the budget for the monarchy institution, and reworking old 2023 policies to create misunderstandings about current policies.
Supachai added that the People's Party directly benefits from these actions that mislead the public through deception and false accusations or encourage misunderstanding, yet they remain passive and fail to restrain their key campaigners or supporters. This may constitute an offense under Section 132 of the election law for House of Representatives elections.
“Today, the Bhumjaithai Party will file a complaint with the EC Secretary-General to take legal action and will also lodge a criminal complaint with the Cyber Crime Division's investigators against the account owners who posted these messages with the intent to support the People's Party. We also urge the EC to proceed with relevant legal measures against the People's Party under the election law provisions.”
