Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit confirmed he did not say that after the election the People’s Party would refuse to cooperate with Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai to form the government, explaining that government formation is the responsibility of the party’s executive committee.
At 18:00 on 7 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit Chairman of the Progressive Movement and campaign assistant for the People’s Party (PChon), posted a photo and statement viaFacebookaddressing reports from some media outlets incorrectly stating that after the election, the People’s Party would not team up with Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai to form a government. Thanathorn stated,
“I want to clarify that I did not make the statements reported by some media. Forming a government is the business of the party’s executive committee. My role is campaign assistant, supporting the People’s Party to win the election as much as possible, and Natthapong Ruangpanyawut as prime minister.” He added at the end that he urges all news outlets that published this story to take responsibility immediately.
