Prime Minister Urges Youth to Courageously Do Right and Entrust Future to Next Generations to Build a Prosperous Thailand

Prime Minister Anutin gave advice to children and youth who have brought honor to the nation, urging everyone to bravely do what is right, try new things, and entrust the future to their descendants to create a prosperous Thailand.

On 8 January 2026 at 09:30 at Santimaitri Building, Government House, 1,462 outstanding children and youth, including those who have brought honor to the nation, paid respects and received advice from Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The event also included a certificate presentation to those who passed the selection criteria, with certificates awarded by Mrs. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education.

The outstanding children and youth honored were selected by 17 government agencies based on good behavior, academic excellence, morality, honesty, diligence, thriftiness, perseverance, self-support, gratitude, helping parents, and dedication to the community. Those who brought honor to the nation were recognized in five areas: academics; arts and culture; music; vocational skills and professions; sports and recreation; and morality and ethics.

Prime Minister Anutin delivered a speech to the students, thanking the Minister of Education for bringing the youth to meet him at Government House. As the head of the government at this venue, he welcomed everyone to Government House. He noted that over a thousand people gathered to receive awards, marking the first time he has had the chance to welcome such a large group. He encouraged them to absorb the significance of the awards, suggesting that one day they might work in this place, managing the country as ministers, military officers, police, or as individuals who contribute to the nation.

He said that being here today should inspire everyone to set goals and strive to do as much good for the country as possible. Having lived a long life, he still remembers his youth as the happiest time, full of opportunities to try different paths and learn from mistakes. Young people, as students, can experiment and learn what is right and wrong, allowing time to correct problems. Being in Government House, he urged them to look to the future and aim for excellence in academics, sports, arts, and other skills, alongside maintaining morality and social responsibility—qualities he hopes all youth will absorb.

. Prime Minister Anutin added, “What I want to leave with you is to be courageous in doing what is right and to try new things. For those already excellent, continue to improve and share your knowledge, experiences, and ideas with your peers so we can move forward steadily and strongly. Believe in building Team Thailand to be strong on the global stage. In the near future, all elders here will have no choice but to entrust the future to you, the next generation. Therefore, I ask everyone to work diligently to take over and build a more prosperous Thailand.”

Regarding the motto, “Love Thailand, Care for the World”, he expressed confidence that everyone already loves Thailand. Caring for the world means making our planet a better place to live by reducing dust and pollution. Soon, we must use energy efficiently and in an environmentally friendly way to ensure everyone is healthy and capable of developing the country to be on par with other nations. Under the leadership of the Minister of Education, Thai youth today should set the goal that “We must build Thailand to surpass other nations, becoming a country that the world respects and that plays a significant role on the global stage.”
