
The Army Commander has ordered an additional 15% special score for each troop who has served on border battlefields during the selection exam for government service. Injured non-commissioned officers will be appointed as permanent NCOs.
On 8 January 2026, General Pana Khlawplodtuk, the Army Commander, recognizing the dedication of troops serving under Chakkraphong Phuwanarot's orders to continuously protect sovereignty along the Thai-Cambodian border, assigned the Army Personnel Department to implement career advancement measures to boost morale and compensate opportunities for preparing for the 2026 government service selection exams.
The special privileges include additional scores and NCO student quotas. A 15% bonus score is granted to all troops who served under the mentioned orders for the 2026 Army personnel selection exam, added on top of existing rights. Special quotas for conscripts serving in the field who voluntarily extended their service as of 1 November 2025 will receive a 15% additional score and 156 NCO student quotas in the Army.
For personnel injured during field duty from 7 December 2025 onward, the Army has reserved additional seats to support welfare and career futures, including 50 NCO student positions and 30 permanent NCO appointments. Units are tasked with surveying qualified personnel to propose to the Army-level committee for consideration.
