Pheu Thai Marks Auspicious Day with City Pillar Shrine Tribute Before Major Rally Yotchanan Prays for Success for Both Himself and the Party

Pheu Thai Party chose an auspicious day as its three prime ministerial candidates led a team to pay respects to sacred relics at the City Pillar Shrine. Yotchanan said he felt encouraged and prayed for success both personally and for the party before their first major rally this evening at Lan Khon Mueang.


At 16:15 on 8 January 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported from the City Pillar Shrine in Bangkok. The three Pheu Thai prime ministerial candidates are Yotchanan Wongsawat, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, and Julaphan Amornwiwat, who is also the party leader. Also present were Prasert Chanruangrongthong, Pheu Thai's secretary-general, and Phongkwin Juangroongruangkit, the party's deputy leader. They came to pay respects at the City Pillar Shrine for good luck before Pheu Thai's first major rally at 17:00 at Lan Khon Mueang in the Bangkok City Hall.




After paying respects, Yotchanan said he came to pray at the City Pillar Shrine, asking for success for both himself and the party. "We have done our best so far and hope for full blessings. Ultimately, it depends on our diligence. Coming here today gives me encouragement, especially since it is a good day with pleasant, cool weather. I will soon meet the people waiting for us." He added that the recent tour across Bangkok was very well received. Today, he looked into diverse policies, including using AI to enhance safety and fostering cooperation between the public and private sectors.
