Election Commission Draws Lots for Radio-Television Policy Broadcast Order: Democrat Party First, Pheu Thai Ninth

The Election Commission held a meeting with political parties to draw lots for the order of policy presentations on radio and television. The Democrat Party was assigned the first slot for campaign broadcasts, Pheu Thai took the auspicious ninth slot, Bhumjaithai was tenth, and the Prachachon Party drew slot number 51.

On 8 January 2026, Mr. Sa-wang Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, chaired a meeting with the Election Commission and political parties that submitted candidates. The meeting clarified procedures for supporting election campaign advertisements for members of the House of Representatives and organizing policy debate forums for political parties. Forty-nine parties participated in the draw to determine the order of policy broadcasts and debates at the Centara Life Hotel, Government Complex and Convention Center, Chaeng Watthana Road.

The Election Commission categorized political parties participating in the national policy debates into three groups.

Group 1 includes parties fielding 300-400 candidates, consisting of five parties.

  • The Democrat Party and the Prachachon Party each fielded 400 candidates.
  • The Pheu Thai Party fielded 397 candidates.
  • The Bhumjaithai Party fielded 394 candidates.

Group 3 consists of parties fielding fewer than 200 candidates, totaling 42 parties.

Broadcast time is allocated over 10 days, 60 minutes per day, from 05:00 to 01:00. This includes five days of election campaign advertisements from 26 to 31 January 2026 and five days of policy debates from 2 to 6 February 2026. Each station may schedule broadcasts at different times within these periods.
