
North Bangkok Poll reveals survey results from the debate stage to the election booth, finding that many people remain undecided, but the “People's Party - Teng Natthapong” still leads all parties in voting.
On 9 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sanit Siriwisitchakul, head of the North Bangkok Poll at North Bangkok University, disclosed that from a public opinion survey conducted between 1 - 8 Jan 2026 GMT+7 with 1,400 samples nationwide across all regions on the topic “From the debate stage to the election booth: public voice direction after MP candidate registration,” the survey covered citizens from all regions.
Regarding which political party respondents would like to lead the government formation after the 2026 general election, the results showed: Undecided 39.40%, People's Party 28.00%, Pheu Thai Party 10.50%, Bhumjaithai Party 10.30%, Democrat Party 6.40%, Economic Party 1.70%, Thai Sang Chart Party 1.20%, Palang Pracharath Party 0.90%, Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party 0.70%, Thai Khao Mai Party 0.50%, and Kla Tham Party 0.40%.
Regarding the political leader respondents want as the next prime minister after the 2026 election, the results were: Undecided 44.60%, Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut 21.80%, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul 13.00%, Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat 7.40%, Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva 7.00%, Gen. Rangsee Kitiyanat 1.90%.
Khun Ying Sudarat Keyuraphan received 1.40%, Mr. Peeraphan Saliratchavipak 1.20%, Mr. Suchatvee Suwansawat 0.80%, Gen. Prawit Wongsuwan 0.50%, and Mr. Thammanat Prompao 0.40%.
When asked which political party respondents intend to choose for their local Member of Parliament (MP) candidate, the results showed: Undecided 42.30%, People's Party 26.30%, Pheu Thai Party 10.20%, Bhumjaithai Party 9.30%, Democrat Party 6.40%, Economic Party 2.20%, Palang Pracharath Party 0.90%, Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party 0.80%, Thai Sang Thai Party 0.70%, Thai Khao Mai Party 0.60%, and Kla Tham Party 0.30%.
When asked what respondents primarily consider when voting for an MP candidate in their constituency, the results were: Both the candidate's party affiliation and the candidate themselves 38.10%, mainly the candidate's party affiliation 18.50%, mainly the candidate themselves 15.80%, and undecided 27.60%.
When asked about their approach to voting in both the party list and constituency MP elections, results showed: voting for both party and individuals from the same party 48.20%, undecided 35.40%, and voting for one party but selecting a candidate from another party in the constituency system 16.40%.
When asked if they intend to exercise their right to vote in the House of Representatives election on 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7, 78.30% said they will definitely vote, 20.30% were undecided, and 1.40% said they definitely will not vote.
