Thai Khao Mai Advocates Policy Education is the Cure for Poverty, Promotes Early Childhood Teacher Employment with Civil Servant-Level Benefits

Dr. Ae Suchatvee, prime ministerial candidate of Thai Khao Mai, promotes the policy "Education is the Cure for Poverty," advocating for official employment of early childhood teachers with benefits equal to those of civil servants. He stressed that this can be implemented immediately, affirming that building people is building the nation.

On 9 January 2026 at the Pre-school Development Center of the Mit Samakkhi Fuen Nakhon Romklao Community, Phase 4, Zone 10, Lat Krabang District, Mr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, known as Dr. Ae, party leader and Thai Khao Mai's prime ministerial candidate, along with Mr. Kiti Wongkulab, deputy party leader, and Mr. Pongpanotphon Raksakulkan, candidate for Bangkok MP District 20, Lat Krabang (excluding Lam Pla Thio subdistrict), number 1 on the Thai Khao Mai list, visited teachers and young children to offer encouragement and promote educational opportunities ahead of National Children's Day. Suchatvee participated in activities and spoke informally with the children, stating that as a father of a young child, he understands the need for complete nutrition. However, many Thai children, especially in low-income families, lack breakfast; some only have a milk box, which is insufficient for their growing age. Thai Khao Mai therefore has an urgent policy to push welfare. "Free breakfast along with lunch" will be provided to all Thai children until they finish primary school to prepare both body and mind. Currently, Thailand faces a crisis of one of the world's lowest birth rates, with just over 300,000 births annually. Therefore, every child born is like a grandchild who must be cared for to the best.

Mr. Suchatvee continued that from discussions with teachers at the child development center, a key problem is their employment status as mere "volunteers," lacking job security and welfare, despite their important role in caring for and nurturing the nation's future. Thai Khao Mai thus has a policy to elevate early childhood center teachers to official employment with real salaries and fundamental welfare rights no less than civil servants to boost morale in caring for the nation's future children. This also includes addressing health issues in children who are overweight or underweight to improve their well-being.

"I reaffirm Thai Khao Mai's stance on human development, which is about livelihoods: education is the cure for poverty. I am confident that when people think of education policies, Thai Khao Mai will come to mind first because we see this as an urgent agenda that can be implemented immediately, not a long-term issue as commonly misunderstood. I also announce our policy to provide free education up to doctoral degrees and student loan debt relief to reduce burdens on children from poor families. I volunteer to make schools safe and quality spaces for building people and human capital for the nation genuinely."
