
The Election Commission has approved setting the election date for 15 Subdistrict Administrative Organizations in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, to 18 January 2026 due to the Thailand-Cambodia border situation, while elections for 156 other SAOs are scheduled for 11 March 2026.
On 9 January 2026, at the Election Commission office, the Election Commission approved the election schedule for new SAO chiefs and members. This followed a request from the election director for 15 SAOs in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, to extend the voting date to Sunday, 18 January 2026, from the original 11 January 2026, due to the situation at the Thailand-Cambodia border.
The 15 SAOs in Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, include Krachaeng, Bueng Malu, Sangmek, Phu Ngern, Thung Yai, Chan Yai, Khanun, Sao Thong Chai, Trakaj, Lalai, Non Samran, Mueang, Rung, Cham, and Phu Pha Mok.
Meanwhile, for the 156 SAOs without border-related issues, elections will proceed as originally scheduled on 11 January 2026.
