The Democrat Party is actively campaigning to support its Bangkok MPs candidates in the Samakkorn Market area, promoting an education buffet policy that offers free education without any costs and a plan to relieve student loan debt through volunteer work. Sakolthee revealed that Democrat Party supporters remain steadfast.
On 10 January 2026, coinciding with National Children's Day, the Democrat Party continued its vigorous and relentless campaign, covering every inch of territory to reach people in every alleyway and morning and evening markets without pause.
This morning, Mr. Ong-art Klampaiboon, advisor to the Democrat Party leader, and Mr. Sakolthee Phattiyakul, the party's deputy leader responsible for Bangkok, along with Ms. Kan Wanadronwisan, candidate number 11 for Bangkok's 19th district, campaigned in the Saphan Sung district and Samakkorn Market area.
Mr. Sakolthee disclosed that public support for the Democrat Party remains strong and steady. Today, he and Mr. Ong-art visited Saphan Sung and Samakkorn Market, where many people approached him, expressing joy and welcoming the return of party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, candidate for prime minister Korn Chatikavanij, party deputy leader Nangkaidee Liaopairoj, and himself to party leadership. Many reaffirmed that they will continue to support and be loyal Democrat fans and are ready to vote for the party again.
Mr. Sakolthee also emphasized that today is Children's Day 2026, and both he and the Democrat Party wish to see children grow up with potential. “I want to remind parents that this election is a foundation for the youth and children, the nation's future, to grow up with quality. Therefore, the election depends on everyone's decision.”
Regarding the Democrat Party's education policy for Thai children, Mr. Sakolthee said the party has selected practical policies that address recipients' needs. This policy falls under the third pillar: ending poverty through education that meets life’s demands.
This policy package includes an education buffet where students can study what they want. The curriculum will be flexible, allowing Thai students to cross-register between institutions and accumulate credits through the Credit Bank and Skill Wallet systems.
Additionally, there is a truly free education policy focusing on removing hidden costs such as transportation and meals, and providing budget support to small schools as necessary.
Also included is a job-for-student loan debt relief policy, enabling student loan borrowers to work in social services or elderly care, using their wages to offset their debt. Other policies include English for All, Learn to Earn, and the National Digital Learning Platform (NDLP), which offers language teachers to all children to reduce inequality and applies AI for personalized learning, preparing modern skills for the future labor market.
“I am confident this policy is feasible, meets the needs of all children and students, and minimally impacts the state budget. Most importantly, it will help Thai children keep pace with the world and compete globally.”
