Yotsanan visits Warorot Market to support a candidate's campaign, promoting a 7/3 cash distribution policy modeled after the “Half-Half” scheme, confident it will earn support to revive the economy.
On 10 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party prime ministerial candidate, visited Warorot Market, also known as Kad Luang, to support Dr. Theerapat Tonpiriyaikul, candidate for Chiang Mai MP District 1, amid a lively atmosphere. Mr. Yotsanan greeted “Aunt Sri Kad Luang,” the long-time newspaper stall owner and a fan of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Aunt Sri shared photos and memories from when Thaksin visited in 2024, offering blessings and placing a marigold garland on Mr. Yotsanan for good luck.
Mr. Yotsanan then greeted vendors and introduced the “70:30” policy, similar to the Half-Half project, aimed at boosting sales for small shops. The Kad Luang vendors responded warmly, offering crispy pork rinds, Northern chili dip, and caramel sweets to encourage him, teasing that he looks very much like his father and they had already decided to support him.
After finishing at the market, Mr. Yotsanan and his team proceeded to The Brick Startup Space at Chiang Mai University to listen to opinions from young entrepreneurs. He announced his vision to promote Chiang Mai as a regional startup hub to create quality job opportunities for local residents.
