The Prime Minister opened the 2026 National Children's Day celebration, inviting Thai children to “Love Thailand, Care for the World.” Children flocked to take selfies and hugged the Prime Minister, while a 12-year-old boy sent encouragement, hoping Anutin would serve a second term as Prime Minister.
On 10 January 2026 at 10:30 a.m., Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by Ms. Thananon Niramits, arrived at the Santi Maitri Building (Outer Wing) of the Government House. Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, senior officials at the permanent secretary level or equivalent, and related staff welcomed them. The Assumption College marching band (AC BAND) warmly performed a welcome song.
The Prime Minister then watched performances by children and youth, including “Quality Hearts of Thailand, Shaping the World – Thai Children with Patriotic Hearts Creating Quality for the Future World” presented by the Volunteer Youth Development Association, a “Cheer Dance” by the Monkey Naughty Thailand team, and viewed a Roblox video game featuring a heroic pilot mission coded by Prime Minister Anutin. The game was created by 11-year-old sixth-grader and national coding champion Jinn Yossunthorn (Jinn Kode Code).
The Prime Minister gave an opening speech and advice to children and youth, speaking warmly. He said that officials had come early to open the Government House to welcome children to visit their workplace. He encouraged young people to create “Children’s Day memories,” visit the Prime Minister’s office, sit in the PM’s chair, try being a spokesperson at the Naree Samosorn Building, and join any activities they find, enjoying the fun and receiving prizes.
Regarding this year’s Children’s Day slogan, the Prime Minister said “Love Thailand, Care for the World” is simple, easy to remember, and understandable for children of all ages. He said everyone already loves their country, being Thai citizens who intend to be good people, respect the law, and contribute to society for the nation. Beyond being Thai citizens, we are also “global citizens.” Today’s world is changing, so Thai children must “care for the world,” be capable of being part of the global community, understand cultural diversity, keep up with technology, speak foreign languages, and respect international rules.
He added, “I hope that in the future, all children will be able to speak both Thai and at least one foreign language. We strive to provide education that helps youth master foreign languages and broaden their worldview to benefit Thailand. When they grow up, I want everyone to participate in solving global problems such as environmental issues, human rights, or any other challenges we can help prevent and resolve according to our age and capabilities.”
The Prime Minister further explained the meaning of this year’s slogan “Love Thailand, Care for the World,” which he wants to emphasize on Children’s Day. He asked all adults, including parents, teachers, and the media, to help instill in Thai children the values of being good national citizens who can also stand out as global citizens. He urged all adults to ensure children grow up safely in good environments and have access to the highest education possible. Children raised in wholesome surroundings will become capable adults who advance Thailand’s development. He expressed confidence that every Thai child is talented and capable, able to compete with anyone.
“Today, I encourage everyone to gain knowledge and experience from the activities arranged by government agencies here at the Government House and elsewhere. Have a fun and safe Children’s Day. I hope all children leave happy and inspired. I thank the teachers and all staff involved in organizing a comprehensive Children’s Day event,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister then officially opened the 2026 National Children's Day event by joining 11-year-old Jinn to play the Roblox game “Winged Heart Mission,” controlling a plane with a tablet to collect hearts and reach the finish line. This online game simulates a virtual world and was specially designed by Jinn Yossunthorn (Jinn Kode Code) as an opening activity at the Government House, creating close interaction between the Prime Minister and children and youth.
Afterward, the Prime Minister and participants took photos with stage performers and the Assumption College marching band (AC BAND), who played a farewell song. They then moved from the Santi Maitri Building (Outer Wing) to the Santi Maitri Building (Main Hall), where they took photos with the choir from Wattana Wittaya Academy on stage and viewed various exhibitions held for National Children’s Day.
Before arriving at the Santi Maitri Building, the Prime Minister took photos and presented souvenirs to 26 children and youth in his second-floor office at the Thai Khu Fah Building. These included children and youth from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, as well as children of soldiers who died in combat along the Thai-Cambodian border.
Reporters noted that the atmosphere at the 2026 National Children’s Day celebration at the Government House was lively and friendly. Many children eagerly approached to greet and take close selfies with the Prime Minister.
There was also a touching moment when a 12-year-old boy ran up to the Prime Minister, raising both fists in support, then earnestly said, “I support the Prime Minister for a second term. I support the Thai military. The Prime Minister is decisive and good.” This brought smiles and laughter from those attending.
