Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat launched his first day of election campaigning in Nakhon Nayok province, visiting local markets and meeting residents. He promoted policies to reduce agricultural costs and boost secondary tourism. Unconcerned about the election, he said he feels relaxed and will campaign continuously from now on without rest.
On 10 Jan 2026 GMT+7, the Kla Tham Party, led by Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat Prompao, party advisory chairman and prime ministerial candidate, along with Kla Tham’s Nakhon Nayok MPs candidates—Mr. Piyawat Kittithanesawon, candidate for electoral district 1, number 2, and Mr. Wuttichai Kittithanesawon, candidate for district 2, number 4—visited several key spots in Nakhon Nayok province. These included the Angkhang Old Market, Ban Na Market, Mueang District Market, and Wang Plajid Temple Market, where they were warmly welcomed by locals, vendors, and merchants who shared economic concerns.
Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat said today marks the first day of campaigning in this election, and Nakhon Nayok holds special significance for him as a place where he lived and graduated from the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy. It is also where the party fields candidates in both districts—individuals well known to the local people, experienced, and former MPs with multiple terms. Starting here is seen as an auspicious beginning to their campaign.
“I would like to address the people of Nakhon Nayok, a province whose economy is primarily agricultural, especially in Angkhang District where rice cultivation is extensive. The Kla Tham Party places great importance on rice prices and production costs, which are key issues in our policies. I also want to thank the local people who have warmly welcomed us and supported our candidates,” Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat said.
He added that Nakhon Nayok is a province with high potential, both in natural resources and its proximity to Bangkok, which supports long-term economic and tourism development. Its natural attractions, such as numerous waterfalls, can help elevate Nakhon Nayok from a secondary city to a major city, provided there is serious planning and management.
Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat continued, saying from today onward, he will not take any days off. After Nakhon Nayok, he plans to travel to Pathum Thani, Roi Et, and Khon Kaen provinces in sequence to meet people and communicate the party’s policies across all regions. Regarding other parties unveiling management teams or potential ministers from outside, he believes it is premature and that respect should be given to the voters’ decision first. He urged waiting for the election results on 8 Feb 2026 GMT+7 before discussing government formation.
When asked if he was worried about the upcoming election, Lieutenant Colonel Thammanat replied that he is not concerned and feels relaxed. He emphasized that the Kla Tham Party will continue promoting policies aimed at solving grassroots economic problems affecting vendors and farmers, who are the backbone of the country. In particular, the party’s policy to establish a People’s Bank must succeed to benefit the grassroots. Ultimately, he stressed that the people should decide which party and representatives can best take care of their livelihoods.
