Kanveer Condemns Bombings in Three Southern Border Provinces, Urges National Priority on Peace

Kanveer, leader of the Plawath Party, condemned the bombings at gas stations in the three southern border provinces, saying they destroyed peace and economic confidence. He emphasized that peace in the south must be a national priority and warned against allowing such incidents to become daily occurrences.

11 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Kanveer Suebsang, leader of the Plawath Party and prime ministerial candidate, stated that he condemns the bombings at 11 gas stations across the three southern border provinces, aimed at destroying peace for the local people and economic confidence. After 22 years, such daily incidents with no arrests should not be tolerated. Peace in the southern border must be a national priority.

Kanveer added that the unrest in the southern border provinces marked its 22nd anniversary just a few days ago on 4 Jan 2026. Seven days later, a major bombing occurred at 11 gas stations in Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat last night, causing severe damage.

"Certainly, this is not the first time violence has targeted gas station businesses. Whether there are other hidden motives behind targeting the oil business is a matter for security agencies to investigate thoroughly and apprehend the perpetrators," he said.

The Plawath Party leader said that while perpetrators continue using violence, regardless of their reasons or provocations, such acts must be strongly condemned because they destroy peace and public and economic confidence completely. The unrest in the southern border provinces has cost over 500 billion baht—almost half of the national annual budget. It is crucial to make peace in the southern border, peace in Patani, a national priority.

"As I have consistently stressed and suggested, peace talks must involve the local people and take place in Thailand. Decentralizing power with the people at the center and seeking a political solution together is what government leaders must achieve. I offer my support to the people and express my condolences for every loss," he said.
