Army Condemns Inhumane Bombing and Arson at 11 Gas Stations in Southern Border Provinces, Urges Law Enforcement to Apprehend Perpetrators

The Army condemns the bombings and arson at 11 gas stations across three southern border provinces as inhumane and deliberate violations of the law. The Army Commander has ordered urgent law enforcement to apprehend and punish the perpetrators to restore peace to the area.

On 11 January 2026, around 01:00 hrs, a series of bombings and arson attacks targeted 11 gas stations in the provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. The Army condemns these inhumane acts by violent groups, which directly threaten the safety of life, property, and civilian infrastructure. These actions aim to create violence, fear, and undermine peace in the region.

Major General Winthai Suwaree, spokesperson for the Army, stated that the Army Commander, who also serves as Deputy Director of Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), has instructed ISOC Region 4 Front to urgently control the situation and support related units in providing immediate relief to the affected. He also emphasized strict law enforcement to bring the offenders to justice. These acts represent deliberate, severe legal violations lacking any humanity and broadly disrupt public peace.

The Army spokesperson further stressed that such behavior reflects an intent to use violence, which contradicts internationally recognized peaceful methods. The Army affirms that all forms of violence are unacceptable and not a solution to any problem. These actions are not ideological but are intentional legal violations with no justification. The Army calls on the violent groups to cease these harmful acts and urges all sectors to reject and avoid supporting these offenders in any form, directly or indirectly. It also asks for public cooperation with authorities by reporting information to help apprehend and prosecute the perpetrators, thereby restoring lasting peace to the area.
