On 11 January 2026, Mr. Sangaw Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, visited the field to encourage election officials during the election of subdistrict administrative organization council members and chiefs at Wat Huai Ha, polling station 2, electoral district 6, village 7, Ban Dan Nakham Subdistrict, Mueang District, Uttaradit Province. Mr. Chalorrit Srisungnoen, the provincial election director, provincial election inspectors, staff, and related officials welcomed him and engaged in discussions exchanging views on work practices that have established the area as a strong community and model democracy. This success is due to integrated cooperation from all sectors, including village heads, local democracy centers, government officials from the Subdistrict Administrative Organization, administrative authorities, rapid response police units, and the local population.
Voters enthusiastically participate in every election. Although candidates compete according to election rules, competition ends once the election concludes, and everyone unites to work together for the community as usual. This approach to community management has created a strong agricultural and tourism hub in Uttaradit Province, free from election complaints or objections, with a high voter turnout.
Mr. Sangaw expressed gratitude to all election officials for their dedicated work to serve the country with honesty, transparency, legality, and fairness to all parties. He also encouraged the public to vote in the Subdistrict Administrative Organization elections to choose capable and good leaders to develop their communities as they desire. Furthermore, he invited citizens to prepare to vote in the upcoming general election for members of the House of Representatives scheduled for 8 February 2026.
Afterward, the Secretary-General of the Election Commission and his team visited the Nam Phi Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Thong Saen Khan District, Uttaradit Province, to inspect and support election officials. They received briefings on the preparations of the Nam Phi election command center for vote tallying and reporting election results. This Subdistrict Administrative Organization is noted for its unity and cooperation from all sectors, free from complaints, and enjoys a high level of voter turnout.
Reporters added that at the elections in Fai Luang and Mae Phun Subdistrict Administrative Organizations in Laplae District, Uttaradit Province, from early morning, many voters arrived before polling stations opened, creating a lively atmosphere. Voters showed more enthusiasm than in previous elections. Many expressed their desire to participate in local elections because these elections choose leaders closest to the people and are crucial for all aspects of local community development and future progress.
At polling station 2, village 7, zone 4, Mae Phun Subdistrict, Laplae District, Mr. Jires Phantayut, age 95, accompanied by his 90-year-old wife and 60-year-old son, came to vote for the Subdistrict Administrative Organization chief and council members amid cold weather. Relatives drove them to the polling station entrance, and bystanders helped support them to cast their votes.
Regarding the voting atmosphere across various areas, officials reported no violent incidents. They encouraged the public to vote as much as possible until 5:00 p.m. to collectively shape the future of their local communities by choosing good and suitable leaders to manage their localities.
