“Ice Rakchanok - Chetawan” Clash with Pathum Thani Residents over “Military” Issue before Being Shouted Out

The Prachachon Party campaigned in Pathum Thani and clashed verbally with locals after being questioned about the “military,” eventually being driven out. “Ice Rakchanok” and “Chetawan” explained they have always advocated for benefits for lower-ranking soldiers.

11 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Ms. Rakchanok Srinok Prachachon Party (PCN) party-list candidate, campaigning on the ground. Mr. Chetawan Tueprakhon Pathum Thani MP candidate for the Prachachon Party campaigned at Nana Charoen Market, Khu Khot Subdistrict, Lam Luk Ka District, Pathum Thani Province. During the event, some locals asked, “Does the Prachachon Party support the military?” This prompted Mr. Chetawan to respond emotionally, “Look at me, my name is Chetawan Tueprakhon. I serve on the military committee and am one of the most vocal in debates about the military. I've never said we oppose the military. We advocate abolishing conscription and improving benefits for lower-ranking soldiers.” A local interrupted, saying it’s not just about abolishing conscription.

At that moment, Ms. Rakchanok spoke through a loudspeaker, “From the Future Forward Party to Move Forward, and now Prachachon Party, we have never said to abolish conscription outright. Instead, we focus on welfare benefits to attract those who genuinely want to serve, so they can support their families properly. I don’t know if you’ve seen the news about the military committee demanding rights for lower-ranking soldiers. Have you heard about soldiers being abused, tortured, or beaten—some even dying in military camps? Do you know which party stands up for those lower-ranking soldiers?”

Then some locals shouted, “Get out! We don’t want you here! If you say the military is unnecessary, Pathum Thani people reject that.” Ms. Rakchanok replied, “That’s okay, brother.”
