The "People's Government" vision was unveiled as the People's Party leadership took to the stage extensively. Theng Natthapong declared their readiness to govern the country and lead the Thai people toward a new, more advanced future.
11 Jan 2026 GMT+7 Mr. Weerayut Kanchuchat or Ajarn Ton, one of the People's Party's prime ministerial candidates, said at a major rally "Unveiling the People's Government vision." He stated that within five years, if Thailand, as the fifth tiger of Asia, fails to recover, this fifth tiger will become just a folk tale. Currently, Thailand fears being left behind, paying the world for trains to pass by their homes without the country being on board. Therefore, we must set a goal and jump aboard the train to reach the new global industries. We will enable our old industries to compete globally, and Thailand's new industries will shine. We will become increasingly indispensable to the world.
Meanwhile, Mr. Isariya Phairipairit a People's Party management team member responsible for state reform, said Vietnam is about to overtake Thailand with support from major powers. The People's Party proposes a practical plan to turn problems into industries, as problems are opportunities. They aim to push Thai private sector production of critical parts and equipment through government support. This will create new industries. Thailand currently faces three main problems: sick people, agricultural disruption, and climate change. We must work together to switch off these three issues.
Next, Mr. Sitthipol Wiboonthanakul a People's Party economic management team member, took the stage questioning why Thai people still face a stagnant economy. The reason the Thai economy has not recovered is a 'black hole.' After COVID-19, Thai spending rose, yet many Thai-owned shops closed. Thailand still faces a flood of counterfeit goods causing 100 billion baht in damages, foreign goods undercutting prices causing over 400 billion baht in losses, and an excess of nominees damaging Thai professions with losses of 500 to 600 billion baht. Without action, Thailand could lose over one trillion baht. The People's Government will close these economic black holes by cracking down on nominees, regulating platform fees and counterfeit goods, preventing foreign price undercutting, restoring fairness and opportunities to Thai people. This will be achieved within the first 100 days.
Then, Mr. Pisan Manawapat a former diplomat who served as Thailand's ambassador to the United States, Canada, India, and as head of Thailand's delegation to the European Union, and member of the People's Government foreign affairs team, stated: “Thailand’s foreign affairs will regain its dignity. Thai diplomats must understand and empathize with the needs, feelings, and hardships of the people.”
Thailand once played a leading role in diplomacy; when we spoke, people listened and admired us. Major powers, big and small, wished to visit and cooperate with Thailand, never overlooking it. We will restore this dignity. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will cooperate with all foreign government agencies to support the policies presented today as core People's Government policies. We will focus on Thailand’s interests wherever they lie globally, based on principles of human rights and diplomatic expertise developed over a century.
Mr. Pisan emphasized that neighbors come first, as they form the foundation for Thailand's leadership and constructive role in ASEAN. Neighborly relations will be central to Thailand’s foreign policy. Diplomacy will lead these relationships, supported by military and security agencies, to promote citizen welfare and protect against military threats. We will cooperate internationally to combat cybercrime, gray capital, and other transnational crimes. We will use economic mechanisms to enhance trade and investment along our borders and employ education and public health to cultivate lasting friendships and Thai goodwill among all neighboring countries over the long term.
Ms. Sirikan Tansakul Deputy leader and prime ministerial candidate of the People's Party, designated as Deputy Prime Minister for Public Sector Reform, said the main goal is a transparent, corruption-free government with no gray areas, and a highly efficient, modern government using digital technology to serve promptly. These two aspects—Clean and Lean—are inseparable. For Lean, unnecessary laws and licenses must be abolished to close channels for bribery. Continuing as before could take 20 more years, so she proposed accelerating all tasks to complete within 18 months. If a license application is delayed beyond 30 days without response, it will be automatically approved.
Regarding corruption punishment, some parties advertise death penalty demands, but none have been effectively enforced. The problem isn't lenient penalties but lack of evidence to prosecute. No one has seriously tackled this, but we will. We must change incentives so conspirators break ranks. Whistleblowers may get reduced sentences or immunity and will be protected and rewarded. Procurement data, board members, shareholders, and asset accounts must be transparent and linked to detect conflicts of interest to prevent future corruption. Auctions must eliminate rigging by stopping direct appointments. Sealing these leaks could save as much as raising VAT by 1%.
“We want to make civil servants' work easier by reducing paperwork, leaving only meaningful tasks, returning them to serve the people.”
Mr. Pichan Chaowapanwong the prospective Deputy Prime Minister for Democracy and New Security of the People's Party, said at the rally that the party plans to dismantle the current police structure and rebuild it through a three-step plan: suppression, adjustment, and reform. This aims to create police officers truly serving the people sustainably. From now on, appointments and transfers must be transparent and fair, starting correctly from the first step. There will be no gray areas, and no police tickets will be sold under a prime minister named Natthapong Ruangpanyawut. No MPs or generals will have police tickets under the People's Government.
They will create a transparent, scientific 360-degree evaluation system covering six areas: seniority, written exams, physical tests, behavior, past awards, evaluations from superiors, subordinates, colleagues, and public feedback. This will replace patronage with fairness. An independent committee will oversee this alongside a digital platform to receive and allow public real-time complaint tracking. The People's Government will fight entrenched police corruption and achieve success within its first 12 months. They will immediately make Thai police reliable for the people, not a refuge for gray capital.
Mr. Munin Pongsapan a member of the People's Government justice management team, stated that justice reform requires constitutional amendments as it changes foundational structures. However, if the People's Party forms government, their justice process will be convenient, swift, efficient, independent, transparent, fair, equal, and offer opportunities.
1. To ensure justice is convenient, swift, and efficient, the People's Government will collaborate with courts and justice organizations to integrate electronic data management systems systematically.
2. To ensure independence, they will restore judicial independence, working with courts and legislature to clarify rules on verdict reviews and case transfers to prevent interference, allowing judges to exercise discretion freely.
3. To ensure transparency, they will promote external independent inspections, especially in corrections, without prior notice, and disclose information publicly to eliminate prison corruption.
4. To ensure fairness and equality, they will amend laws to increase prosecutors' roles in joint investigations to reduce wrongful prosecutions and allow courts to punish genuinely guilty defendants. Prosecutors will protect citizens' rights and reduce court burdens. Warrants will require prior prosecutor approval to prevent overuse.
5. To provide opportunities, the government will promote prisoners' rights to education and training primarily online, enabling skill development to reduce recidivism and social burden. They will incentivize private sector employment of ex-prisoners with tax benefits.
“The People's Government will restore normalcy to Thailand’s justice system, making it convenient, swift, efficient, independent, transparent, equal, and providing prisoners opportunities to reintegrate into society.”
Regarding Mr. Wiroj Lakkhanaadisorn he spoke about the People's Government’s plan to crack down on scammers, stating that scammers are not just money drains but transnational criminals threatening the economy and national security, targeting all Thai citizens. They are central to evils such as drugs, human trafficking, terrorism, and arms buildup to threaten Thai sovereignty. Shell accounts are at the core, used for money laundering. As long as dirty money moves freely, scammers are like zombies, impossible to kill.
They cheat Thais out of 316 million baht daily, totaling 115.3 billion baht annually, with influential networks colluding with international mafia to launder money in Thailand through nominee businesses. Honest entrepreneurs suffer, new coin businesses sprout exempt from taxes, undermining the domestic capital market and weakening financial and banking systems. People bear high-interest rates. Dirty money inflates bubbles in land, condos, and gold, raising living costs.
The People's Party will "stop the bleeding" by immediately freezing shell accounts and SIM cards, strictly regulating new SIM openings, enforcing the second Cybersecurity Act, upgrading deposit security, and establishing a National Scam Crackdown Academic Center. It will unify police, prosecutors, Anti-Money Laundering Office, Revenue Department, Business Development Department, and others on a shared database to seize assets and enforce laws on scammers. They will shift from passive to active by pursuing scam networks globally. Thailand must lead ASEAN, ratify UNCC 2024, and cooperate with the US, China, UK, Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
“I affirm that my colleagues and I, along with Prime Minister Natthapong, will relentlessly pursue and punish scammers. It is time for the People's Government to secure citizens’ bank accounts and safety, ensuring phones do not carry criminals. It is time to protect the country and people from transnational mafias, gray capital, and dirty money. On 8 February, elect People's Party MPs to parliament and let Natthapong and me enter Thai Khu Fah Building to work for the people.”
At the end, Mr. Natthapong said that as a prime ministerial candidate, his duty is to declare readiness. They are fully prepared with a suitable management team, clear policies, and operational plans. Many already sense prosperity accompanied by winds of change that everyone has contributed to since 2019. These winds of change will increase if all in Thailand help amplify their power like windmills.
“Today, the People's Party's political will is not just to create a politics of change but to govern the country. Vote People's Party, vote double, vote decisively. This is not just the Kao Klai Party anymore; Thailand is different now. It is time to form the People's Government, a government of change that will lead the Thai people to a new future beyond before. I ask for your power, your voice, your hope, the future of our children, and the future of Thailand to be in your hands.” The event concluded with a group photo of the People's Government management team.
