Ruangkrai Files Complaint with NACC Over 246 Baht Gold Bribe in Former Deputy Police Chief Case

Ruangkrai has filed a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) regarding the acceptance of a 246-baht gold bribe to assist in the case of a former Deputy Police Chief, which may constitute receiving assets exceeding 3,000 baht.

On 13 Jan 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Ruangkrai Likitjawat, a candidate for Bangkok MP from the Palang Pracharath Party, stated he sent a letter via EMS postal service to the chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC). The letter requests an investigation into a NACC commissioner allegedly accepting a 246-baht gold bribe, potentially violating Section 128, Paragraph 1 of the Anti-Corruption Act B.E. 2561 (2018) and the NACC announcement on the ethical rules for acceptance of assets or other benefits by state officials B.E. 2563 (2020).

This request follows reports from various media that the Royal Thai Police forwarded a case file accusing a former Deputy Police Chief of giving a 246-baht gold bribe to a NACC commissioner to assist in a case where the former Deputy Police Chief was under NACC investigation for online gambling. According to the Anti-Corruption Act B.E. 2561 (2018), state officials are prohibited from accepting assets or other benefits from others. Therefore, there are reasonable grounds for the NACC to conduct a thorough investigation.
