AMLO Proposes Court Order to Transfer 158 Million Baht of Chonnaphat and Associates Assets to the State

The AMLO Transaction Committee resolved to petition the court to order that 158 million baht in assets belonging to Chonnaphat Naksua and associates in an online gambling case be forfeited to the state, after reviewing the request to revoke the asset seizure and finding it insufficiently substantiated.

On 14 January 2026, the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) announced the results of its Transaction Committee meeting No. 1/2026 held on 12 January 2026. The committee decided to take action on assets related to drug offenses, corruption in public office, fraud against the public, routine fraud, electronic gambling, and other predicate offenses, summarizing key actions.

Among these was the decision to forward 17 cases involving 492 assets valued at approximately 769 million baht to prosecutors to petition the court to order the assets forfeited to the state, because upon reviewing requests to revoke the seizure and freeze of assets from stakeholders, there was insufficient evidence to support that the temporarily seized and frozen assets were unrelated to criminal activities.

One notable case among these involves Mr. Chonnaphat Naksua. He is currently a candidate for the Songkhla parliamentary seat with the Kla Tham Party in the case of a group involved in organizing electronic gambling on the website www.gimi88.com and others. The Transaction Committee resolved to forward the case to prosecutors to petition the court to order forfeiture of 69 assets belonging to Chonnaphat and associates. These include cash, vehicles, land, securities in trading accounts, and bank deposits. The total value is approximately 158 million baht. (Order No. Y.286/2025)
